Today we will begin at the art tables. Children will use an assorted mix of unordinary brushes and paper materials to collage “brown” paper. Together we will experiment with brush strokes and textures. As the paper dries, we will gather around and read the beloved book: Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? By Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. As we read through the book, we will guess what animal we will see next and discuss the illustrations of each colorful animal. After the book, we move back to the art tables to our collaged brown paper to create our very own Brown Bear! We will compose a scene of the Brown Bear on a 12”x18” art board by cutting shapes from our collaged art paper, Eric Carle style.
