Andy Warhol was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.Pop artemerged in the United States during the 1950s. The movement presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular and mass culture, such as advertising, comic books and mundane cultural objects. In this class we will discuss Warhol’s pop art and view prints of examples. Students will then create an art piece using their hands in a Pop Art style.
Art will be wet at the end of class, you may leave and pick up at a later time/date. Recommended for children ages 5-12. Drop-off is allowed for kids 7+, please come early to fill out an emergency contact form. Pre-registration is recommended to reserve a seat.
