Watercolors of Keuka Lake

Let’s celebrate Keuka Lake through Watercolor art! At this Free event, we ask you to paint your own interpretation of Keuka Lake using watercolors. Are you inspired by our beautiful landscape or by the memories you’ve made at this beautiful lake. What do you Love about Keuka? Join us and paint it! We will be providing 9”x12” 140lb cold pressed water color paper, watercolor cakes and brushes for you to get creative! All we ask is that you hang your art for the month of August in our Community Art exhibit. You can pick up your art in September to take home!

This is a month long art installation made by You! Every First Friday Live, ReFIND will host a non-profit and a new art project. This month we are collaborating with the Keuka Lake Association. The project you create will be installed on the wall for the month. Come back anytime and see the installation complete, bring your family and friends to show off your artwork. At the next First Friday Live event, we will have the art installation disassembled, you can bring your art home, and create the current month’s project!

We invite you to create with us and be part of our monthly Community Art Project. This month’s theme is “A Walk in Nature” and is a collaboration with the Finger Lakes Museum in celebrating National Trails Day. This event is FREE! Templates and instructions provided to create your very own wire art. Templates vary in skills required and length of time to complete. For a simple wire art plan to spend 20 mins, for the detailed/large scale wire art, plan for 45 mins to an hour. This is a FREE Drop in Event. Drop in anytime between 5pm and 8pm on Friday June 7th.

The project you create will be installed on the wall for the month. Come back anytime and see the installation complete, bring your family and friends to show off your artwork. Finger Lakes Museum 

The Finger Lakes Museum is dedicated to developing, supporting, and inspiring stewardship of the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. As a showcase of the cultural heritage and ecological evolution of the vast region, The Finger Lakes Museum plans to lead by example in stimulating an intrinsic love and respect for the natural world and cultural intrigue of this region.

PLANT A FLOWER FOR MOM - FREE CHILDREN'S EVENT WITH ELEVATE YOUTH

ELEVATE Youth collaborates with ReFIND with a free event for children to craft a handmade Mother’s Day gift.

Children will marble a terracotta pot, fill with potting soil and plant a flower seed to grow. To complete the project, children create a paper flower with a special note to mom to place in the soil until the flower grows. 

This is a walk-in arts and craft project that will take approximately 30 mins from start to finish.

ELEVATE Youth is a partner of the Yates Community Center, providing experiences through a variety of programming for children, youth and families, giving them the opportunity to grow in the areas of self-confidence, leadership, responsibility and respect.

Bring your Jedi in training to create your own lightsaber! This is a walk-in craft activity for all ages to make a lightsaber from a pool noodle, colorful tape, and other craft embellishments. One lightsaber per child please.

Craft activity is included in the Open Studio price of $10 per child. Light sabertakes approximately 20 to 30 mins to craft. Spend the rest of the hour creating art and crafts of your choice from our Open Studio supplies.

Craft a rain and flower mobile with a wood embroidery hoop, cotton balls, string, paper and glue. Your art creation will be installed as part of the Community Art Project for the month of May honoring ELEVATE Youth – a non-profit partnering with the Yates Community Center to provide opportunities for our Youth in Yates County. This event is FREE! Donations made will be 100% proceeds to ELEVATE Youth to provide youth programming in our community.

SLIME MAKING - FREE KIDS EVENT

ALL SEATS HAVE BEEN FILLED! Thank you for your interest!

ELEVATE Youth collaborates with ReFIND for a SLIME-Y FUN time! A self-guided experience to make glittery slime and glow in the dark slime. Containers provided to take it home and a Studio Assistant is available to help with the creations.

Recommended for ages 3+. Parents must stay for the fun. Seating available away from the mess if the kids are busy interacting with their friends.

Its highly encouraged to reserve your seats. Walk-ins will be taken but will be based on availability and will be on a first come first serve basis. We are predicting this to be a very popular event, sign up below to reserve your seat!

On Dec 20th join in on the fun and start a new holiday tradition of making ornaments!

This is a self-guided experience to make an embroidery hoop ornament with your children. Choose to embellish it with a variety of scrapbook paper, glitter, twine, evergreens and holiday trinkets.

This is a FREE Event brought to you by the Yates Community Center and ELEVATE Youth. All supplies are included and children get to take home their ornament. Parents are required to stay for the fun and encouraged to craft with them. Seating is available away from the mess while the kids are busy interacting with their friends.

Yates Next Gen (Yates Young Professionals) continues their tradition in hosting a holiday inspired activity to raise awareness and funds for the Yates Christmas Program.

Warm up at 17 Main Street and join us for the fun! For $5, your generous gift to the Yates Christmas Program,  grants you a beer/wine tasting and an ornament to marble. Donations welcome to support the Yates Christmas Program.

Studio assistants will guide you through the holiday craft, step by step. Art aprons sized for both children and adults are available. While your Ornament dries (ornaments take 20 mins to dry), you are welcome to stay, warm up and shop ReFIND’s new retail. Great gifts and holiday decor now available! You are also  welcome to pick up your ornament at a later time that evening.

It's a holiday shopping tradition that celebrates small businesses like ours. And it wouldn't be a celebration without customers like you joining us. Grab a friend or family member and stop in at ReFIND Studio and Shop.

We recently expanded our retail to include locally made goods from local artists; home decor, gifts and accessories from small made in the USA makers; maker (art and craft) supplies; as well as handmade seasonal ornaments and decor! We are extending our hours on Small Business Saturday and will be open from 10am to 8pm on the big day!

ReFIND’s Open Studio Hour will be open all day too, 10am-8pm! Take a break from shopping and get crafty. Inspiration projects will be available with some great holiday inspired creations. All day we are offering the Open Studio Hour for $10 (Regularly priced at $15). No coupon needed, come in and create! More about Open Studio Hour here.

FREE YOUTH EVENT - THANKSGIVING CENTERPIECES

This is a FREE event brought to you by the Yates Community Center and ELEVATE Youth.

This is an opportunity for our youth to take part in giving this season. Together we will be making decorations and centerpieces for the upcoming Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Four craft stations will be set up to create and make the decorations shown below. All supplies are included. Volunteers will be present to assist.

We appreciate your help and time in making someone else’s Thanksgiving bright! In appreciation of gifting your time, everyone is welcome to make a set of decorations to take home for their family.

The decorations will be used at the 4th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner held at the Elks Lodge on Thanksgiving Day.
